Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of noor, an AI-assisted journaling and self-reflection app operated by Radaydeh (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa ("noor", "the app", "we", "us"). By creating a profile or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use noor.

This is the same Terms of Service shown inside the noor app, where you accept it before journaling.

noor is not a medical or emergency service

noor is a self-reflection and journaling tool. It is NOT a medical device, a healthcare service, therapy, counselling, or a substitute for professional mental-health care. Sofia, the in-app AI companion, is a software program — not a licensed therapist, psychologist, or medical professional — and nothing in the app constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Never use noor in an emergency. If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself or others, or experiencing a medical emergency, stop using the app and contact your local emergency number or a crisis hotline immediately. The in-app SOS screen lists crisis resources, but noor cannot contact emergency services for you and does not monitor your entries in real time.

Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional with any questions about a medical or mental-health condition. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read in noor.

Who can use noor

You must be at least 18 years old to use noor. noor is an adults-only service: under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), anyone under 18 is a "child", and because noor processes sensitive information about your emotional wellbeing we do not knowingly allow under-18s to create a profile or use the app.

The first time you open noor, before you create a profile and before you can use it as a guest, we ask you to confirm that you are 18 or older. You cannot use noor unless you do. We ask for that confirmation and nothing else — we do not ask for your date of birth, and we record only that you confirmed and when. Confirming when you are under 18 breaches these terms, and we may end your access and delete your data if we learn of it.

AI-generated content

Reflections, chat replies, and insights in noor are generated by artificial-intelligence models. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. It is offered for self-reflection only — use your own judgment, and do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or other professional decisions.

Your account and your data

You can use noor as a guest, with your data stored on your device, or enable Cloud Sync by signing in, which stores your data in our cloud database so you can recover it across devices. You are responsible for the device and account you use to access noor.

Your journal entries remain yours. We claim no ownership over what you write. You grant us only the limited technical permissions needed to store your entries and process them with our AI providers to deliver the app's features, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Premium subscriptions

Some features require a paid Premium subscription. Payments are processed by Paystack, a third-party payment provider — we never see or store your full card details. Prices are shown before you pay.

Subscriptions renew as described at checkout, and you can cancel future renewals at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Where consumer-protection law in your country grants you refund or withdrawal rights, those rights are unaffected by these Terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use noor to break the law, to harm others, to attempt to access other users' data, to probe or disrupt our systems, or to resell or scrape the service. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or puts other users or the service at risk.

Intellectual property

The noor app, its design, branding, and software are our intellectual property or that of our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to them beyond personal, non-commercial use of the app.

Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

noor is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate or suitable for you.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) noor, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Termination

You can stop using noor at any time and delete your account and data from Settings. We may suspend or end the service, or your access to it, for breach of these Terms or if we discontinue the app; where reasonably possible we will give you the chance to export your data first.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use noor after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, where Radaydeh (Pty) Ltd is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence grants you rights that apply regardless.
