noor
How it works

A loop, not a chore.

Five things happen between opening noor and closing it two minutes later. Here they are — including the parts most apps keep vague.

  1. Step 1

    Check in

Open noor and slide the mood dial — a one-second honest answer to “how are you arriving?” It takes no willpower, and it quietly becomes the baseline your growth is measured against.

Mood is captured before and after each entry, so you can see what journaling actually does for you.

  2. Step 2

    Speak or write

Record a voice note on the walk home, or type three lines before bed. noor transcribes speech as you talk. There's a gentle prompt if you're stuck, and silence if you're not.

No minimum length. A tired sentence counts.

  3. Step 3

    Sofia reflects

Your entry is read with real attention. The reflection comes back in four parts: how you seem to feel, the pattern underneath it, one or two Socratic questions, and a line of gentle context.

Reflections compare today with your history, so recurring loops get named instead of repeated.

  4. Step 4

    Patterns surface

Charts show your mood over weeks; Weekly Synthesis draws the days together; living lists collect your gratitude, strengths, and resources. Sofia keeps a short rolling memory of what matters, so nothing starts from zero.

The memory is a ~paragraph summary you can wipe at any time — not a transcript.

  5. Step 5

    It stays yours

Guest mode keeps everything on your device; Cloud Sync is optional. Export your whole journal as JSON or CSV whenever you like, or delete it permanently — immediately, device and cloud together.

The Privacy Policy covers the whole journey in plain language.

The thinking behind it

Grounded, not clinical

noor's reflections draw on well-studied ideas — used carefully, and with clear limits.

Informed by evidence

The reflection style is informed by CBT- and ACT-adjacent thinking: noticing unhelpful thought patterns, naming what an entry actually shows, and asking questions instead of issuing advice.

A companion, by design

Sofia is an AI companion — not a therapist, and never presented as one. noor is a self-reflection tool that can sit alongside professional care, not replace it.

Clear about limits

noor is not an emergency service and doesn't monitor entries in real time. The SOS screen keeps crisis resources one tap away — and if you're in crisis, your local emergency number comes first.

Begin tonight.

One honest voice note before bed. That's all a first entry is — and it's further than most people ever get.
